What should you bring on a picnic? Simple and delicious dishes
If you’re planning a romantic picnic, a day with family, or a vegan picnic, the key is to bring dishes that are easy to prepare, store and enjoy in the fresh air.
We’re sharing our favorite foods to pack for your next picnic, using Royal Prestige® Mixing Bowls, ideal to slice, grate, store and carry it all.
1- Hummus and crudités: an incredible vegan and gluten-free option
Royal Prestige® Utensils:

Ingredients:
- 250 g of soaked chickpeas
- Enough water
- 150 g of tahini
- 50 ml of lemon juice
- 1 garlic clove
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 25 ml of olive oil
- 10 g of paprika powder
- 10 g of parsley, finely copped
- Crudités including carrots, red pepper and green pepper
- In the Royal Prestige® 6 L Pressure Cooker, add the chickpeas and water, without exceeding 2/3 of the cooker’s capacity.
- Close the cooker, turn the valve to the pressure icon, and cook over medium-high heat.
- Once pressure builds and the indicator pin rises, reduce to medium-low heat and cook for another 20 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and turn the valve to release pressure. Wait for the indicator pin to drop, then open the cooker.
- In a bowl, combined the drained chickpeas with the rest of the ingredients.
- Blend using the Royal Prestige® Power Blender Go Plus until you get a paste-like consistency. Add cold water for a lighter texture. Set aside.
- To prepare the crudités, place the lid on the Royal Prestige® 5.5 QT Grater Mixing Bowl and carefully insert the julienne cutter.
- Take the Pusher, pull the handle to release the metal prongs and insert them into the carrot.
- Hold the bowl by one of the grips and slide the Pusher over the blade.
- Repeat the same process to grate the bell peppers.
2- Chocolate-covered fruit: aesthetic and delicious

Ingredients:
- 10 green grapes
- 10 strawberries
- 1 cup of pineapple, cut in cubes
- 1 peach, cut in cubes
- 1 mango, cut in cubes
For the chocolate fondue:
- 200 g of heavy cream
- 300 g of dark chocolate, 70% cacao
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- In the Royal Prestige® Casserole, add the heavy cream and heat it over medium heat.
- Turn off the heat just before it starts to boil. Add the chocolate and stir until smooth and well combined.
- Mix in the olive oil thoroughly.
- Place the fruits on skewers and dip them into the chocolate. Set them on a tray lined with wax paper.
- Once the chocolate has hardened, place the fruits in a bowl and set aside.
3- Egg salad sandwich: perfect for a picnic with the family
Royal Prestige® Utensils:
- Royal Prestige® NOVEL™ 8" Skillet
- Royal Prestige® Mixing Bowls
- Fresh spinach, to your preference
- 8 slices of bread
- Chives, chopped
- 2 paper towels soaked in water
- 6 large eggs
- ½ serrano pepper, chopped
- ¼ cup of chives, chopped
- ⅓ cup of mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard
- Juice from ½ of a lemon
- ½ tablespoon of chili powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Place the paper towels and eggs in the Royal Prestige® NOVEL™ 8" Skillet.
- Cover with the Redi-Temp™ Valve open and cook over medium-high heat until the valve whistles.
- Reduce to low heat, close the valve and cook for 12 more minutes.
- In a bowl with water and ice, place the boiled eggs and let them cool for a few minutes.
- Peel the eggs and cut them into cubes.
- In a bowl, mix the rest of the ingredients for the salad with the chopped eggs.
- On a slice of bread, add spinach, a portion of egg salad, and chopped chives. Place the other slice of bread on top to assemble the sandwich.
4- Macaroni salad with roasted chicken: everyone’s favorite

- 1 package of elbow macaroni
- 1 can of half-and-half
- 3 tablespoons of mustard
- 2 tablespoons of white vinegar
- 1 cup of grated carrot
- ½ cup of green bell pepper, chopped
- ½ cup of red onion, chopped
- ½ cup of chives, chopped
- ½ pound of shredded roasted chicken
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- In the Royal Prestige® NOVEL™ 4 QT Dutch Oven, cook the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine the half-and-half, mustard, and vinegar.
- Add the cooked pasta and the rest of the ingredients. Season with salt and pepper, then mix well.
- Garnish with cilantro and serve.
